Women Empowerment Rural Livelihood Handloom & Crafting

In one of our most impactful initiatives of 2025, Rong Ham-Doi Foundation launched a comprehensive three-month handloom and tailoring training programme across 15 villages in Golaghat district, directly benefiting over 200 women from marginalized communities.

The programme was designed to revive traditional Assamese handloom weaving techniques while simultaneously equipping participants with modern tailoring skills. Experienced master weavers and professional tailors were engaged as trainers, and each participant received a complete starter kit including a portable loom, sewing machine access, threads, and raw materials.

Community Tree Planting Drive
June – August 2025 Golaghat & Neighbouring Districts

Green Earth Mission: 10,000 Trees Planting Drive

Environment Wildlife Soil Conservation

As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, the Green Earth Mission was launched during the monsoon season of 2025. Through a series of community-driven tree planting drives, over 10,000 saplings of indigenous species were planted across degraded hillsides, school compounds, and public spaces in Golaghat and neighbouring districts.

The initiative was particularly focused on native species such as hollong, nahar, and gomari that support local biodiversity and are resilient to the regional climate. Student eco-clubs from 25 schools actively participated, nurturing a generation of environmentally conscious young citizens. Each student group was assigned a planting zone and trained in ongoing sapling care.
